Hussein`s poem
Ex-president of Iraq Saddam Hussein wrote a poem during first sitting of court which took place on October 19 in Baghdad.
Newspaper "Ash Shahid Al-Mustakil" published poem with other details of trial pointing out that ex-dictator will not give up. The poem sounds like:
Stand proudly taking powder as dowry. Wrong step is not dangerous - there is still time ahead. Our determination is secret fire, And first trench will be followed by second one.
Ex-president of Iraq didn`t have enough sleep at night before trial - prisoners were waken up at 2 a.m. to wear new clothes. Hussein was examined by medical committee in the morning. Doctor noted that ex-dictator is almost healthy despite of lymphatic glands inflammation. Nevertheless, Saddam Hussein looked well during trial.
Saddam Hussein held notebook and pencil. During session Hussein composed a poem. He didn`t like first variant which he crossed out and the second variant he gave to Iraqi journalists.
